Sunday Evening I went goose hunting with two friends in the reeds of the elbe. Big ships sailing up to Hamburg in the background, quite a sight! I managed to shoot two barnacle geese with my William Evans from 1897 in 12/65. The Eley Grand Prix in 12/67,5 Size 4 worked perfectly. Sorry for the picture, it was dark out. ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/QBMwcY2k/IMG-8241.jpg)

Steve, You got that antique scope zeroed? Looks like you clipped his neck with the shot. Was that where you were aiming? Nice buck regardless. JR

“I suppose you shoot them all like that?” a friend observed as we walked up to an instantly dead rabbit, neatly drilled behind the ears with a .22 LR from my T-Bolt.
I had to admit I had been aiming at its shoulder.

They usually don’t run too far when they are shot in the neck.
I knew a farmer that shot all his deer in the head. Didn’t want to waste any meat. I think it was a depression era thing, but, it made for some of the ugliest deer kills I’ve ever seen.
Best, Ted
