Hi there,
I found some Winchester AA Super Target Lite shells, 2-3/4 x 1145 fps, Federal Top Gun at 1180 fps, B&P Comp One at 1160, and a couple others. Unfortunately the smith at South Florida Shooting Center is only working when I am, so I will need to take a day off and make an appointment. On that point, there are many gunsmiths around, how do I find one competent on classic shotguns? 🤔
That's a very good question Doug. Other's may have other thoughts but my go to green flags are.......are there other vintage double guns on his work bench and does he have the proper tools to measure barrel wall thickness. If I walk into a shop and all I see are rifles getting scopes mounted etc, that's likely not the guy I;m looking for. I want to see SxS, American, British or European.
Also, when you think you have found one, ask here if anyone has had work done by the shop.
