I have two 16 ga German shotguns which are choked F & F. From what I understand, that was normal for German shotguns because they didn't do wing shooting but shot rabbits and birds either on the ground or in trees.

I want to get the chokes opened (reamed) so I can use these guns for quail and pheasant.

Does anyone know a good gunsmith (hopefully in N Georgia) that works on chokes and can ream these chokes to M/IM? (The last "gunsmith" asked about screwing in another choke)

Mike Orlen. Google him. Quick, and fairly priced.

I was told many exported guns were choked full and full so the end user could pick what he actually wanted the chokes to be after he bought it. Seems reasonable….

Best,
Ted

Seconding Bill Schwarz. I am in Atlanta and he is the only vintage double gunsmith that I know in the area. He has made screws for me, stripped and cleaned actions, and repaired an LC Smith stock. He should have no trouble opening chokes. That said, it is my understanding Mike Orlen is the "go to" choke guy.
