Well, I went to look at the gun today- ready to buy it. When I first saw it, I thought something looked odd- the gold medallion was down awfully close to the end of the butt stock. Someone had cut the stock down to 11 inches. About 12 1/2 inches with a 1/4 inch spacer and a dried out 1 inch white line pad. So much for that. Gorgeous gun, too. I would have asked what the LOP is before driving anywhere to look at it as a potential purchase, whether 100 miles or across the hamlet. Just common sense to ask if the barrels or the wood has been cut. Amen! JR

Just common sense to ask if the barrels or the wood has been cut. I had to go right past his house to go to Home Depot to get some light fixtures. So, I would have wanted to see the gun anyway. Not a big deal for me. I'm always driving around looking for guns. But after I saw it, I thought I would hold off on it. He probably won't sell it for a while- if I decide I still want it. Plus I have a feeling he might lower the price and I know one guy at the club with a kid who shoots who might want it. But he's out of town right now. Maybe I could put another pad on it and sell it. I'll just have to decide. A lot of options. But, right now I have two guns to get leather pads on, and I just got done doing a Silver Pigeon ll, so I'll hold off on it for now. Thanks gentlemen for all your help. I bought a model 100 for my wife and immediately cut the stock and added a pad. That was that gun's most important purpose, and it worked very well for that. But as soon as I got it, I also put a search on ebay for a replacement stock. In short order, I found a c n c unfinished carved stock that fit it perfectly with only a few minutes of adjusting the inletting. I added a pad to that, and now I have stocks that fit both me and her. I don't think I paid more than seventy five dollars for that butt stock.
