They are good guns. I had the exact same gun, in 20 ga., that is in question here. Killed my first Gambel's Quail with it on the first shot. I even won sub-gauge 50 bird events with it at The Fall Southern. Good triggers and good ejectors. The barrel regulation was spot-on with 7/8 oz. loads.
Now for what I didn't like about it. I didn't like the plain wood. I didn't like the, what looked to be, polyurethane finish. I didn't like the beavertail fore-end. I didn't like the cheap looking gold plated trigger finish. It had a "catch" that was annoying, about midway through the top lever travel.
I traded it off to a friend for an all original Philly Sterlingworth Ejector in 20 ga., and I gave him some money to boot. It is my quail and woodcock gun, and it has soul. I've never missed the SKB.
IMO, and other's will vary, $1500 is a strong price for it. It's a very solid gun, yes. But, it's a machine made gun and it just never much appealed to me. I'd certainly not pay $1500 for another one, regardless how good the condition. And, I'd certainly rather have my Fox, which is my go to quail and woodcock gun.
May God bless America and those who defend her.

I had the 100 in 12 and 20, nice shotguns, I used the 26" 12ga for ducks even after steel became mandatory, traded it for a hand made flintlock. The 20 I used for grouse and woodcock, I decided I like two triggers better and sold it off, it was my last single trigger sxs. Solid shotguns, I had no complaints, just nothing inspiring about them. I bought them both new for about $150 when one of my suppliers were closing them out.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.

I swear, Ed, if you can't respect the rest of us enough to type with proper grammar and spelling, why don't you just shut up? You impress absolutely no one with your pitiful excuse for Cracker dialect. And it's an insult to Southerners like myself. There are enough Americans who look down on Southerners already without you helping them out. We don't talk that way but you do everything you can to convince them otherwise.
Lord, I wish you had never lived in the South.
May God bless America and those who defend her.

yo pic has become redundantly annoying...
pls delete it from your future posts... Gotta learn to love it, ed, at least until dave upgrades the software to auto resize them. The people that love to criticize my dog, my shotguns, etc. cannot be denied their little pleasures. Your posts are often redundantly annoying as well, yet I have not noticed that you, accomodate requests to cease your drivel. Ed, the reply you got from the Nutty Professor just confirms his mental illness. He has given at least four excuses thus far for using that giant photo of his starving dog as his tagline. First he said it was meant to annoy Dustin, who was often critical of his Merkel. The inner pain from that criticism must have really cut deep! Second, he said he did it to annoy Stan, and he added "BrentD, (Professor - just for Stan)" as his signature line, and also changed his screen name to BrentD,- Prof. This was right after Stan rightly mocked his intelligence... or severe lack thereof. I'm sure Stan has suffered many sleepless nights consumed with guilt for causing him so much distress and emotional trauma. More recently, the Nutty Professor admitted he was unable to resize the picture of his emaciated dog, and once again cried about the "antiquated software" used by this forum that apparently makes it difficult for him to post photos. In other words... he's too stupid. Now, in yet another crybaby hissy-fit, he is telling us that we must all carry the cross of looking at his giant tagline photo, until Dave upgrades to software to auto-resize them. Apparently, Dave is supposed to be a mind-reader, and should have known that he and we are all being held hostage to the Nutty Professor's demands and tantrum. And what is ROTFLMAO hilarious is that he expects Dave to cater to him after he ran a one-idiot campaign encouraging folks not to donate funds to this site. Most site administrators would have given this spoiled man-child the boot he deserves. He should be thankful that Dave gives him a platform to be a total ass.
Voting for anti-gun Democrats is dumber than giving treats to a dog that shits on a Persian Rug

As to the question of value, they are decent guns that had their day. I recently purchased a near new Browning Gran Lightning in 16 gauge at a LGS for $1500. They had it tagged as a Grade 1. Nicer wood, quality, and Invector chokes.
Considering the age, and the common problems that some have already mentioned, not sure they are worth that. But like everything else, it's what someone is willing to pay for it.
