Eurasian brown bears, same species as our grizzlies.

Lots of them in the Transylvanian alps, and Carpathians where there are yearly bear attacks and they have recently been transplanted back to the Pyrenees, They are also found in the Alps, notably N. Italy. There's a well known video of a bear following an Italian boy down a mountain near Trentino while his mother almost has a heart attack.




That kid speaking in a strong Trentino accent was so calm - telling his mother to be quiet.. . .then saying in the end in Italian, "That was so cool!!"

Slovenia is a tiny country situated beteen Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia, with only 2M people but as much as 1K brown bears. The government ordered reduction by 200+ this Spring but the court stopped it. Now the bears are looking for food in some villages on the outskirts of the capital city of Ljubljana ...
