I have a 1923 16 Ga Ithaca Flues that it dragging the firing pins. Looking for a good gunsmith, familiar with Flues, to fix this. Looking for recommendations, please.

Well, Les Hovercamp died.
I don’t know if anyone took over diamond gunsmithing in New York.

Gunter Pfrommer could probably do it.

But the most common problem part on the flues that affects the timing of the firing pins withdrawing, was made by Less, then fitted and hardened by him.

Not many people working on flues anymore.

I could only find the original Emil Flues patent drawing. It appears that the firing pins do not have return springs. It's possible that there may be a bit of dirt or rust in the pin bores, preventing the pins from freely moving back in to the breech. Why don't you try putting the smallest drop of oil on each firing pin and then gently push them back in to the breech face. Does the dragging occur with all ammo, reloads etc.?

Unfortunately, it’s usually a timing issue.
When it gets real bad, you have to pop the forend to release the barrels.
I have at least 4 in varying steps of wear with this problem.

I’ve been tempted to have a machine shop run 100 pieces and have them available forFlues owners to finish.
