Aside from my one purchase of a new Dickinson through the excellent Tom Bryant at the Sidney, NE store I've never had any dealings with Cabela's gun libraries. I've heard so many horror stories about them that now I have zero interest in looking online at their vintage guns.
I am reminded that there is at least one large used gun dealer that I haven't visited in the South, in Wagram, NC . . . . . Mid-South Guns. It is in my winter plans to make an overnight trip there to actually see their place for myself and possibly do some trading. I have heard great things from friends who have been. Mid-South does zero advertising and has no online presence, unless something has changed in the last year or so. Mike, I think said you've been there before. Is it still a shop worth driving from GA to visit?
Stanton, let me jump in on your post before I have to run. I was just at Mid South back in August. It is everything you have heard it is!! They have got every wall lined with bottom and top rows of some very nice guns of every description you can think of. The staff is helpful and you are free to look at an handle anything you can reach that is outside the showcases where they have a plethora of handguns and knives. It is WELL WORTH stopping in. But plan to spend a few hours!!!
