Lloyd, one day soon (I know we've talked about this) You, Ted and I will spend a few days tracking dogs tracking grouse in the vicinity of LOTW… James “Canada Jim” canvasback, that sounds like a grand time! If you time it right you can shoot over to Winnipeg and catch the preseason opener. Jets hosting Ted’s Wild on 21 September. Hopefully Ted can get Monday off work. Bet he can’t wait to retire. (Hang in there, Ted! Don’t pitch that passport just yet!) _____________________________________ I like Vegas in the west with the Mitch “Mitchy” Marner addition. Jet’s took a step back losing Ehlers.

I too have spent many a happy day chasing after birds, while carrying a 16 or 20 gauge pump gon...
however, as this is a doublegun forum, perhaps we could limit or gun discussion to doubleguns... Let’s see some of those Grouse pictures of you with double guns Ed.

Hey Ed, in the event that your old grouse hunting photos are not in a digital format for easy posting here to satisfy Ghostrider's curiosity, you could always just post a YouTube Video of some guys in skirts playing the bagpipes... ...It's a perfectly acceptable substitute!
Voting for anti-gun Democrats is dumber than giving treats to a dog that shits on a Persian Rug

and as fate would also have it, I gave up hunting around 2005, before cell phones, gps and digital everything...
instead, carried two compasses, topo maps, a whistle and matches...
and moss really does grow on the south side of certain trees...
when lost and all else fails, follow a stream down hill...

At least we got a pic of a pile of fish in the bottom of a boat from his ‘Alaskan adventure’. I’m not in Alpena often, usually on the other side of the state, but if I ever see anyone dressed in ‘gay apparel’ driving an Audi blasting bagpipe music I’m going to have a word or two with the chap. __________________________________ Knowing how much you like rap and bagpipes music check out Eminem’s Bagpipes From Baghdad.

I always heard moss grows on the North side of trees ( not the South side ) but also was told you can’t count on that as moss actually grows in the shade. This is something important to know. Otherwise you may need to count on wandering around in circles playing your Kazoo until someone comes looking for you.

Here you go, ed. I don’t know about perfect, but, these two are pretty good. ![[Linked Image from i.ibb.co]](https://i.ibb.co/Cpgf6DcZ/IMG-0108.jpg) Darne V19, 20 gauge. After I lost my left eye and had to shoot right handed I couldn’t make it work for me. Happily owned by a regular poster here, who had no such problem with it. His wife sent me a gift and a thank you card after he bought it from me. I think it was choked IC and MOD. ![[Linked Image from i.ibb.co]](https://i.ibb.co/DDFsbxcn/IMG-0051.jpg) Ithaca Lefever Nitro Special, 16 gauge, 1938 vintage (same as my late mother) which, gets you 2 3/4” chambers, dispelling with all that angst about what ammunition to use. It has 26” tubes, with factory CYL and MOD chokes and weighs 6lbs and a few ounces. I have a few ten round boxes of old Heavi-metal #6 loads that a poster sold me years ago, he said they didn’t hit ducks hard enough, but, I don’t have any problem knocking grouse down with them. So, I have a curio and relic non-toxic gun to hunt with. I have others. They all have different features and represent different compromises. I used an early Remington pump for many years as a younger man, but, find I’m not so interested in cycling an action after the shot, these days. The cute pup is my hunting date, Louise, or, Louie, as she is known to her friends. She spent the first year of her life deathly ill with a doggie immune disorder, and, in spite of everybody telling me I should put her down, I chose to keep hoping and praying. She is only OK as a hunting dog, but, if there is a better behaved hunting and home companion out there, I haven’t met her. Louie literally loves everybody. 12 years old, going on about 3 1/2, at the moment, but, I know how this rodeo ends. Not looking forward to it. Best, Ted
