Wow, I'm just a young guy that opened this thread thinking he might learn something about finishing a Silvers pad. I learned something alright, an appreciation for two other forums I read. Might have to send Dave a goodbye donation. My ten year old nephew does a better job of keeping his trap shut then you guys can... geez. Oh please. Put on your man pants and hang around. It's pretty rough and tumble here at times, but there's always good information to be found in the dustups. You'll be glad in the long haul. JR Gen Z? Because Ed,if there was a gun balance issue the installation would include drilling out wood to conteract balance issues with pad installation...im sure you know that. If someone ask questions why not try to offer answers instead of personal opinion

I grew in central Florida in the fifties, when we still had coveys of quail liven in the orange groves...
used to flush erm at dawn and at dusk, out from under the trees...
didn't have no bird dog back then, so hunted alone or with one other hunter...

carried an shot a Stevens 94, 16 ga with cut barrels and stock... no choke...no pad...

But yeah, those nuggets you just posted give us some wonderful insight into your vast knowledge of shotgun dynamics and wing shooting. You be careful now. cj, one would think, but it has been my experience that the weight of the wood that can be removed by hogging out the stock is a fraction of the weight of a solid silvers type pad...

It's a sign of the times Stan, and I wish I knew why so many men are so easily triggered by things that should just bounce of any skin thicker than a nanometer. Just look at the Nutty Professor's response to you as an example. He sees your little comment as a nasty micro-aggression that will likely send him looking for his pacifier and security blanket. And at the same time, he is brain-dead enough to think nobody ever noticed his own frequent attacks on Ed, or anyone else he hates. Princess SKB gave Pwog's complaint a "Like", showing that he/she is no different than the Nutty Professor, who also gave it a "Like". Both act as pure and innocent as the driven snow. Anyone who pays attention, and has been here for any length of time, knows both are phony as a three dollar bill. I've read that this hyper-sensitivity in males could be caused by the BPA in some water bottles and plastic food containers. It could be the Woke indoctrination they get in schools from Liberal Left teachers. Or phytoestrogens from soy milk and soy protein. Or the estrogen and other female hormones they add to chicken and cattle feed to fatten them up. Personally, I think it's Climate Change!
