Scott rail no longer allows firearms on their trains.
I use a porter or rent a car.
Perth station remains unchanged since the original painting.

The painting "Going North" depicted a scene from 1893 at King's Cross Station in London.

Perth Station is in Perth Australia, oh esteemed world traveller! A train ride from Perth, across the ocean and around the tip of Africa to the grouse moors of Scotland, would be an interesting trip indeed.

Our Gray Man was right about the ScotRail ban on transporting firearms (except for the spelling of ScotRail). Liberal Left anti-gunners seldom miss an opportunity to express their hatred for firearms... which is why it is the pinnacle of insanity for any gun owner to ever vote for them.

Voting for anti-gun Democrats is dumber than giving treats to a dog that shits on a Persian Rug

Poor Karen, dumb as a box of rocks, and proves it regularly. The companion painting, "Coming South" depicts the trip home from Perth station in Scotland back to London.

The clock from “Coming South” still hangs right there.
In Perth station.

Anyways, I’m going to refer to him as the Orange Man from now on.

I was getting dressed this morning, and my valet used a soft brush to remove a spec of lint from my gilet.
Kind of reminded me of Keith for some reason.
The thought was passing, and like the spec of lint, but a momentary distraction, followed by unconcern.

Very informative and interesting. Thanks for sharing. Just goes to show how much work is involved in taking care of these moors.

I recently saw some interesting statistics on firearms ownership per 100 citizens for every major country in the world. I knew right away that the United States would be in first place, and it was at 120.5 guns per 100 citizens. Numbers were for 2017.

But I was shocked to see just how low that number has gone in the U.K., which was once a major center of gun making, and of the shooting sports.

England and Wales are down to a mere 4.6 guns per 100 persons. Scotland is at 5.6 per 100, and citizens of Ireland own 7.2 guns per 100 population.

By comparison, the numbers are quite a bit higher in some countries that also have pretty severe gun control laws. Canada is at 34.7 per 100 and New Zealand is at 26.3 per 100 residents. France is at 19.6 per 100. Australia is at 14.5 per 100, even after some rather large mandatory buybacks and confiscations. Tightly restricted Mexico is at 12.9.

I also like the painting "Going North". It is likely an accurate rendition of what that train station looked like 130 years ago as hunters, and their dogs and gear crowded the station, and comprised a good percentage of the passengers.

It would be interesting to see it today, when showing up with firearms might actually get you in trouble with the law. Another example of why elections matter, and who gun owners support as politicians matters even more. Hiding that fact is as irresponsible and dishonest as telling children that drugs and cigarettes aren't dangerous.

I’m doing my level best to cover off Canada. I’ve got about 100 people covered. 🤣
