I'll be out of the country for the next few weeks. Assuming I survive the flights across the "pond" I'll be more than ready for it when I finally get home.

Got a report of high ruffed and sharptail populations in the Interlake area of Manitoba. Its dry up there, so many of the sedge and Canada reedgrass meadows will be hayed. I've seen few places that are as attractive to grouse than islands of willow and black spruce in these hayed meadows, probably because of the insect populations.

Arrived "alive", back from my little tour of Ireland late last night. Pretty beat-up today from all the flying but my departure date for the "North Country" draws near (so I'm sure I'll recover quickly). Everytime I go east of the Mississippi, I note the increase in population-density there and it seems that "crossing the pond" adds even further to that issue for me.

Sure looking forward to loading the car and heading out over these great plains to see less people and more real-estate in it's more-natural state (maybe old european cities have that same effect on a few others here?). Picked up a head cold in my travels so I'm hacking like a 2-pack a day man right now, but good American pharmaceuticals should resolve all of that shortly.

Glad I did it, but won't need to again for quite a while now.
