Perhaps I wasn't clear. I have replaced hinge pins where the caps were threaded and slotted. The procedure was to remove cocking levers, remove cap, remove small screw that penetrates the hinge pin from the knuckle, unscrew hinge pin. Duplicate hinge pin with same threads, shoulders etc. but of course larger diameter at it's bearing surface. How much larger to make it is easily determined by measuring how much the gun is "off face". But I have never worked on a gun with unslotted caps. I was assuming they were pressed in. Obviously wrong. If threaded perhaps they are slotted on the inside face? If the hinge pin is slotted, well, pretty good evidence that it is screwed into the frame. I'm hoping that perhaps someone who has replaced a hinge pin on one of these guns will share his trade secrets.
