Drew, whatever you want to call it, I had a "flinch". It was an involuntary reaction. I worked my way out of it with the technique described. It was something I wasn't going to work out without help. Help helped. YMMV. Gil

I wouldn't wish flinching on my worst enemy or even a democrat.
I tried all the "fixes" nothing worked except a release trigger. How about an independent like myself. 😁 I hate to disagree, but I wouldn't wish a release trigger on anyone. I've seen too many guys near me shoot holes in the blacktop with one of those darn things. 🙄 Some guy on the line has a misfire and while he is goofing around trying to knock a stuck wad out of his gun, another guy is standing there holding his finger on the trigger or maybe he decides to eject the loaded shell while he is holding his trigger down because he gets tired of waiting and the next thing you know-- KA-BANG!! And it's always the guy who should never be around a gun who decides he needs a release trigger. Been there and done that before! 😬 This is the most ignoramus clown sort of statement I have heard in awhile....it is demonstrative of the fact you likely know little to nothing about shooting, certainly that of competion shotgunning. I beg to argue that anyone close to you while you are holding any gun, pull triggers or otherwise, is likely in conspicuous danger!!

Never shot a release trigger but I've shot with lots of skilled shooters that use them and never witnessed any malfunctions.....dim whits shouldn't shoot release triggers
My best advice is don't hang around dim whitts

just thought I would provide an update. 1. Focusing on getting a good gun mount. 2. Shooting some 410, which obviously has zero to very little recoil. 3. Found an almost 8 lb Boswell pigeon gun and with modest reloads has a push but not a punch.

Fact is. NO ONE really knows what causes it, or how to fix it.
