You just like to shit on other people for fun.

People that actually use vintage stuff get unimaginable pleasure from their accumulations.

Refurbishing "Grandpa's Old gun" has had innumerable well received articles in all of the publications some of us have supported for years, in the face of people like yourself.

It ain’t Grandpa’s old gun. Pretty far from it, according to the OP. Did Grandpa hunt with a 20 gauge LC Smith? Dunno, but if his looked like this when he cashed in his chips, I’d hate to see what his saddle looked like. Come on, be honest, this one is rough, the bill is going to be high when it is all over, the OP said he didn’t care, but, he might change his mind if and when the romantic notions fade.

Nobody shit on anybody, here. He got everything he needed for advice, names, telephone numbers, pitfalls, price estimates, and good advice. Everything he needed. If he goes through with it, he’ll get skinned, if he is good with that, okey, dokey.

Take a pill, dude. This ain’t church.

Best,
Ted

In my last post made a couple days ago, which still has not shown up, I made a couple recommendations for barrel bluing and restoration work because 53caddy did say he doesn't mind "spending some dumb money". I try to avoid spending dumb money for the most part, but as GLS has often said here, we lose all semblance of reason whenever we pass the first KFC on our way to spend time and money chasing a few small birds.

A gun like this L.C. Smith can be made much more presentable without breaking the bank, and the savings could be used to buy another decent gun. I don't think the wrist was previously repaired. Sometimes I pat myself on the back after doing some repair or refinishing project on a gun, and think about how much I saved. Then I look around at the thousands of dollars worth of tools and equipment I've accumulated to do properly these things.

I don't see where John Roberts was shitting on anybody by advising the OP that this L.C. Smith was not the best restoration candidate. He's right, and wasn't rude in pointing it out. That same advice has been made here countless times as guys embarked on money pit projects that would exceed the value of their gun. Clapper Zapper recently made a Post in the DIY Gunsmithing forum searching for some parts to repair a Crescent Peerless. That may be a waste of money nearly as bad as taking Rosie O'Donnell to a beauty salon.

Clapper Zapper is probably just a bit upset about all of the time and money that Obama, Biden, and the anti-gun Democrats spent to help Iran get a nuclear bomb... only to have it all blown up by Donald Trump. Now there's several 300 foot deep money pits that certainly cost billions.

Or maybe he's mad about Trump spending $45 million on a parade to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Army. Never mind about that big parade the Taliban put on to show off the $7 Billion in advanced U.S. military hardware left behind during the botched Afghanistan pullout debacle!

Voting for anti-gun Democrats is dumber than giving treats to a dog that shits on a Persian Rug

Keith,
I think it was Chuck H who first threw KFC into the practicality mix.

Good post.

Depends. I console myself with the fact there isn’t a KFC in Roosevelt.

Oops! Now they are finding out that the Iranians moved their uranium before the attack and that Trump's excursion only set Iran back a few months. Because of that-10 years from now, Trump's failure will have the screwballs saying "he helped" Iran get a nuclear bomb just like you are saying Obama and Biden did. And what was the cost of the ordeal in Afghanistan? Over 2 trillion dollars? 10 million dollars a day, was it? Compared to that, we gave up a few dollars worth of destroyed, used up, worthless equipment to stop it. And the Republicans have always over estimated what the cost was. Go to fact check and you can read all about it. So,thank you Joe Biden for being the first president in decades to come down the pike and put an end to that silly nonsense of throwing away the taxpayers money. And it wasn't that long ago keith, that you made the statement that people lost 20-25% of their earnings during Biden's presidency (because you couldn't manage your money). Now you are complaining about- just the opposite. Hmmmmmm. 🙄

His avatar? Boy, I wish there was censorship in this country. Then we wouldn't have to listen to things like, "28 whales died last year from windmills last year. Whoosh-Whoosh-Whoosh!" And if I hear one more person say, "That big beautiful bill". 🤭 At least Kamala was right about one thing, Putin sure had Trump for lunch. " No more war in Ukraine within 24 hours." Yeah, right! Then there was- Taco - Taco Man. Sung to the tune of Macho - Macho Man. 😆😆 But then again, a lot of people did predict four years of comedy relief. 😆😆

It really does make sense that Jimmy W and Joe Biden/Kamala are simpatico. Explains his nonsensical left-wing lunatic fringe rants. This is what happens when someone mainlines CNN 24/7.

In the course of two news cycles, everything Jimbo posts is demonstrated to be bullshit. You are correct, John, and it is glorious watching him post and crawl out of sight for a week or so.

The usual suspects are no longer lamenting the DOW or the Nasdaq, or, whatever other economic indicator they were told would never come back.

MAGA, led by President Trump, has had an incredible week, and it brings pure joy to me to realize that these same usual suspects are going to have to take Kristy Noemi’s rather blunt advice and “Suck it”.

For 3 1/2 more years.

Best,
Ted
