My first firearm from England since the new tariffs took effect, hit the states yesterday. Added a charge of $136 for the one rifle. Since I believe it's based on amount of the rifle's value, I paid 1000 pounds for the rifle.

10% and depending on who ships it, possibly more. I just ordered a book from the UK, cost was 75gbp for the book, 75 gbp for shipping and UPS just billed me for tariffs and "fees" 33$. a 75 GBP book will end up being 238$ delivered.

We had been led to believe, by some Liberal snowflakes here who are afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome, that these Tariffs would be the end of the world. Actually, that seems pretty benign, especially if it leads to better Trade Deals and future investments in U.S. production and employment opportunities. And when you compare it to the huge price increases for nearly everything as a result of insane Democrat policies that created the Inflation of the Biden years, well really, there is no comparison. We now pay at least 25% more on average for the things we consume, and the value of retirement savings and investments were diminished by a like amount. Food, fuel, groceries, automobiles, travel, housing, rent, and utility costs all went up dramatically under Democrat rule. On top of that, we all paid hundreds of billions for the Democrats to illegally import at least 12-15 million additional illegal immigrants, and to then pay to give them free housing, education, health care, food, cell phones, etc. And now we have to pay again to round them up and deport them. But for some odd reason, the whiners who cry about Trump Tariffs never say a word about this far worse economic damage that affected every U.S. citizen, not just the occasional foreign gun buyer.
Voting for anti-gun Democrats is dumber than giving treats to a dog that shits on a Persian Rug

Between the exchange rate and this unlegislated tax increase(tariffs), doing business over seas has become a mute point, pretty much killed my once thriving import business. On the bright side, the Biden years were good enough to me that I was able to put myself in a position to pay my house off and entire semi-retirement. Trump's tariff policy is poorly thought out and even more poorly executed, it does indeed affect every single American consumer, for me I will just pivot to other income streams and enjoy my increased free time.

UPS just sent me a $295 tariff bill for the antique Charles Lancaster double rifle I brought in from Italy this month.
A couple of months ago I received an 1876 John Dickson 16 bore hammer gun from the same auction house. No 10% duty on that one.
I am sure that in a few short months the US will be awash in cheap, domestically produced new rifles and shotguns from the 1880s as production of antiques is brought back to the USA. Small towns across the nation will soon be at full employment again, and young men will leave their parent's basements and their PlayStations and Xboxes to start families and go back to church.
In all seriousness, the idea of leveling the playing field is not a bad one. The way this administration is pursuing it, however, is clumsy, disruptive to our economy and alliances, and could certainly have been done more competently.

You want to be our ally, great, pull your weight and pay your share. I think that message is finally getting through. Took a leader like DJT to make it happen. ______________________________ DJT just rag dolled Mark “Elbows Up” Carney on the DST.

It amazes me to see "conservatives" embrace the largest tax increase in history....

My suggestion to firearms dealers in the Uk and Europe would be to adjust their prices to account for tariffs. Eventually buyers here will demand this and it will happen.

Overseas multinationals with business in the US are eating the tariff. Of course this puts pressure on margins but if they want to sell here you do what you gotta do. My suggestion to firearms dealers in the Uk and Europe would be to adjust their prices to account for tariffs. Eventually buyers here will demand this and it will happen. Not likely.....it is an international market, we are strong buyers but hardly the only mouth at the table. It is the retailers and consumers in America that will take this 10% in the shorts. That's right, you and I, just like with everything else that is imported, coffee, bananas, you name it, it is the American consumer who pays more, in spite of the tall tale Trump is telling that the foreign seller pays the tariffs.
