An acquaintance gave me a nice Miroku missing the barrel set. He lost them in a move somehow. I thought about trying to find a complete gun in worse shape and putting the barrels on this one. I don't where to start. I'm not sure of the model, but this looks like a Browning. Any help would be appreciated.

IIRC, a new set of Miroku multichokes barrels with fitting, was $1800 a couple years back.
IMV, priced exactly where it made no sense to do it. Just buy another field grade gun with multi chokes.
It takes many cartridges to wear one out.

Out there doing it best I can.

You’re gun appears to be a Superior Grade Charles Daly made by Miroku! These guns faded away when Browning introduced their Citori model. These guns were quite well made, and all were hand fitted. Looking over your stock and receiver, I think that’s a project I would just forget about. Your stock is cracked, and that will need attention as well as the expense of fitting any barrels that you may find And that may prove difficult!

Just to keep it accurate, the gun depicted is a 'Field' grade and not a 'Superior'. There was also a 'Venture' grade that was an extractor gun. All were well made and hand fitted at the time which means any of the parts bought back when, also required some hand fitting by a qualified gunsmith. Finding a correct set of bbl.'s is going to be difficult, but not impossible. I've bought two sets from individuals over the years and had them fitted as extra sets to guns I have. Of course, the numbers do not match, and the expense gone to will never be recovered.
