Picked up a feather weight 20 ga field today that would like to send it somewhere to get it restored to its former glory. Does any have recommendations who to send it to? Most post i found was 5 years ago and a lot has changed from then.

Imho,"restoring" a field grade L C Smith, even if it is a 20 gauge, is a fool's errand unless you just want to throw money into a pit OR it's a sentimental heirloom, the latter not applicable in your case. But someone will be along soon to nay say my opinion along with a recommendation. Proceed with caution...

What hasn't changed over five years is that restoring a Field Grade L.C. Smith will cost far more than the value of the firearm.

You did not provide specifics or images, but the gun may simply need correct conservation/preservation rather than a costly (correctly performed) full restoration.

While applauding your enthusiasm, a "like it left Fulton" restoration will cost up to $2000. Refurbishing is a more reasonable option.
Please check the first question in the "Maintenance and Restoration" FAQ on the LCSCA site
https://lcsca.clubexpress.com/content.aspx?page_id=274&club_id=43784

If you'll let us know your general location, we might be able to recommend someone near you.
Does the gun have a HOT? There are very few smiths able to work on HOTs; Jerry Andrews is one.

Please be aware that Hunter Arms did not lengthen the 20g chambers from 2 1/2" to 2 3/4" until about 1936.

It's Bill Schwarz in Elijay, Ga. but he may be retired

If it has a HOT send it to Jerry Andrews.
