Originally intended as a shelter for members of Congress during a nuclear attack (Project Greek Island).
History:
The bunker was built in the late 1950s to early 1960s, but was never used for its intended purpose.
Decommissioning:
The bunker was decommissioned shortly after its existence was revealed by the media in 1992.
...As if we needed even more proof that the Liberal Left Media hates the United States.
If the current day Liberal Left Media had their way, there is no doubt in my mind they would gladly travel back in time to reveal D-Day Invasion plans to Hitler.
