A recent set of numbers published in Canada as our postal service threatens a strike.
Canada Post employs 55,000 people, most in a union and for the industry at the top end of the pay and benefits scale. Those 55,000 people deliver 20% of the deliverables across Canada.
The other 80% of deliverables is done by 72,000 people, likely NOT at the top end of the pay and benefits scale.
We need to close it down.
I am beginning to wonder how rational it is to send people out to every, single, mailbox across the US and all its possessions 6 days a week, with special service on the 7th day.
The very great majority of what comes goes in the trash, without a second glance.
Best,
Ted
