I care because younger shooters will be screwed and it becomes even more a rich man’s game.
It has always been a hobby that was expensive relative to other hobbies.
As always, you have to “want” to do it, or have someone else picking up the tab.
I agree 100% with eeb's statement, and disagree 100% with Clapper Zapper's statement.
I didn't just wantonly waste ammo when I was in high school or college, and working lower wage jobs. But I could easily afford to shoot enough to become proficient, and to reload or buy good quality ammo for hunting. It has become much more expensive for younger shooters today, even adjusted for higher wages and inflation. And making ammunition very costly, unaffordable, or even unavailable has been a goal of the anti-gun and anti-hunting Liberal Left... a goal they even sometimes admit to.
Ted recently reported on the push by anti-gun Democrats in Minnesota to eliminate lead shot for School Shooting Teams. So much for CZ's prior statement claiming there is always a carve out for ranges. He knows damn well there has been a sustained push in many parts of the country by Democrats to restrict ranges to very expensive and inferior non-tox ammo.
We have all seen the shortages and price increases that occur frequently when anti-gun Democrats make yet another push for further infringements upon our 2nd Amendment Rights. Reloading large quantities of shotgun shells for high volume target shooting has become much less economical. So yes, even though many of us can afford to pay higher prices and restrict ourselves to a couple boxes of overpriced ammo for hunting, I know we wouldn't need to if some shooters put a little more emphasis on maintaining our gun rights, and less on supporting Woke Leftist Socialist crap.
In the so-called Big Tent of gun owners... there are some folks who pretend to be on our side. But they are quietly working against us, and it needs to be pointed out. Right CZ?
