Raimey,
It depends on the bullet being used. When I had the gun on a "loan" basis, it came with some ammo and cases with 70 grain 22 Savage HP bullets, along with data for 4350. I killed a whitetail with it, which I reported to the owner. Based on his request, from his hospice bed, I tried the rifle "on paper". With his loads (Sav. -HP bullet/ 4350), it would not shoot an acceptable group. The bullets were made for 2800 fps and 4350's velocity was well over that. Because time was short, I changed to 4895 and reduced the load gave acceptable groups (there are cautions against reducing loads using slow powder such as 4831/4350). At about 3000 fps,the groups were acceptable. After my friend had passed on and I had bought the rifle, I took a Whitetail with the 3000-fps load. Sometime later, as a favor, a friend "bumped up" some 80gr. .224" higher velocity bullets to .227" for me. With this bullet, 4350 gives acceptable groups well over 3000 fps. I never was able to match the old, published velocity without exceeding a charge I was comfortable with in my rifle.
