Sorry Ted, I'm out of the manufacturing game, no interest at my age.

My import business was doing quite well, until Trump came along and turned everything upside down.

I don't complain about VAT in Europe for a very simple reason, I'm not charged VAT on exported goods. Same as in NZ, no VAT paid by me or my clients. I figured a guy who had been an importer in the past might know that.

The weak dollar and investors fleeing our bond market is a very bad sign. Interest rates are not going down anytime soon, nor is inflation. The cost of tariffs will be passed on to the consumer(that is you Ted).

Trump's policies in regards to trade and tariffs are terrible, the cost of living here in America today would make your the price of your widget unaffordable. We will never be a manufacturing powerhouse again, best to leave that to those that can do it on a lower dollar. We have tons of unfilled manufacturing jobs in America today. Why? Because our youth has been told they are too good for that. How about your kid Ted? Is he going to work in factory somewhere on an assembly line? I doubt it.

It is not the suggestion of tariffs that has me in a funk, it is the fact I will be paying tariffs and very successful business model that I had been developing for years has been negatively impacted.

Trump's tariff policy sucks.
