Looking at my collection I seem to have one shortfall. I have right and left shoulder crossover guns and right handed (right shoulder) central vision guns, but no left handed central vision guns. I feel like I am looking for a very rare gun. I have a couple guns with a lot of cast for a left handed shooter but they are not central vision guns. Has anyone come across one of those central vision doubles set up for left hand use?

I shoot my crossover and central vision guns and find them a hoot. They do take a bit of getting use to, when you shoot them. Recoil is not straight back and I find muzzle flip more side to side or diagonal, than up and down but that might just be my way I shoot them. You ought to see others look at my gun when they come across them. I explain their reasons for being and speculate that the reason for so many guns made between the wars was the returning vets with war wounds. Makes some of these gun a bit more connecting to the sacrifices of the past. I know some were made just for people with dominate eye problems or non military physical handicaps, but the high numbers that were made between the first and second world war I think reflect demand from Veterans who lost eyes, fingers, hands or partial limbs in the war.

Hey KY Jon:

I'm LH and left eye dominant, and have never heard of a "central vision" stock. Have a pic of one?
Years ago I found a factory SXS Merkel with the typical raised Germanic cheekpiece, but on the right side of the stock.
Then I installed steel-safe Brileys in it, so I can use it for anything from Ruffed Grouse to geese.

I think you are correct about all the unconventional stocks built for injured vets. My dad was one of those, but luckily it was "only" his ears.

Click on the link to see a right handed central vision double. I have seen dozens of right handed versions but no left handed ones. I am looking for a left handed central vision double.
