There is no Webley connection with the LC, the Greener is built on Webley screw grip action. The top lever spindle is built like SG, never seen another top lever configured that way, correct in that it does not have a rib extension, by the 60's they were likely assembling guns from left over parts.

The boxlock has Webley Lebeau Courally engraved on the right barrel top.
The sidelock seems to have sort of hybrid [pre and post 1954 mix] of proofs. I think it was Picture 16 that seems to show a hidden fastener at the breech face.

question related to the webley-greener gun....many of the exposed screw/pin heads appear to have small holes drilled at the ends of the slots - some are partially into the surrounding metal.
can anyone tell me what these are? never seen anything similar....

I've have several guns that have a small screw next to a larger one to lock the main one in place. This gun looks as if someone "peened" the end of the screws to achieve the same thing. The ends of the screw slots appear to have been “staked”, a crude way often used by British Army armourers to stop screw’s working loose.

Now, what is the explanation for the Webley name attached to the Greener and also the Lebeau and Courally ?

i'm quite familiar with keeper screws, and generally so with the staking done on some military weapons...recently took delivery of a 1925 merkel "marke traub" o+u - and readings related have exposed me to the notion that between the wars merkels might be referenced by how many keeper screws are there. this new gun has a total of 6. but this webley - greener looks to me to be a case of abuse, in regards to the "mutilation" of pins and surrounding metal - i would guess that removing some of those pins will be a genuine challenge. on photo #16, the forward lug has a 3th "bonus" hole...these appear to me to be drilled (?) rather than staked, and one is almost entirely on the screw head, and one looks to have almost missed the screw entirely.
also, like steve, i see no evidence of the rib extension that pretty much defines the webley & brain sg system....if there was a photo of the standing breech it would give an indication of the presense of the rest of the mechanism. perhaps a customer came to greener with a late webley - scott action, and had them build a gun around it?
and, like steve, i see nothing at all that would connect webley to an otherwise straight forward lebeau - courally boxlock gun.

I thought your questions were good ones Daryl. Instead of discussions about the Lebeau Corrally or Greener connection with Webley we now know that a bunch of ham fisted armorors used to intentionally bugger screws.
