Hi all, I'm currently looking at a Superposed from a dealer who doesn't really specialize in collectors guns and has posted minimal pictures. I'm really looking for a prewar gun and unfortunately don't have the serial number, but as it's a really good deal I'm hoping to strike while the iron is hot so to speak. It does have the FN marking on the lever, which I believe is distinct to prewar guns, but I'm hardly an expert. Can anyone confirm I've got that right? Thanks!

I think I know which Superposed you're speaking of. In La Belle Province, oui? If so, it is indeed a prewar superposed, however the lever is quite far to the left past the safety, indicating the likely need to be serviced by a competent gunsmith in the near future, if it is to be put into service.

It's a nice gun, but I don't really think it's a screaming deal. It has a fair amount of pitting on the receiver as well in the additional photos they sent me.

Post pics here if you do end up buying it, it would be cool to figure out whats up with it.

That's the one! I did see the lever but for the amount I plan on shooting it this year I'm fine with it - I want a backup gun for grouse season and if it spends the winter at a smith I'm not losing sleep over it.

It was! I also grabbed one of the Gecos he had on sale so I figure I’m set with a backup either way.

When you get them, pictures please

Geco (Gustav Genschow & Co.) is a German company with a long history in ammunition manufacturing and sports equipment.
Founded in 1887 by Karl Gustav Adolf Genschow, Geco initially focused on distributing to retailers.
During World War I, Geco manufactured a wide range of ammunition and military equipment.
Today, Geco is part of the RUAG Ammotec group and continues to manufacture ammunition and sports equipment, including hunting and sports ammunition, optical products, and related components, according to Geco Ammunition and All4Shooters.com.

Did your superposed arrive safely from Quebec? I'm curious to see it!
