We can wring our hands about tariff's raising gun prices, but that is the least of our problems now. The country is governed by vandals bent on making the world safe for plutocrats who have no need for any government function except the military, and they're weakening it too. What do you think will happen when Social Security shuts down? No government agency can function in this chaos. We're going to get a lesson in how well the system worked when it all grinds to a halt. We're under the thumb of Big Brother because too many believed him when he proclaimed, " Ignorance is strength. "

Ted, you have not made a correct prediction in your entire life. We are still waiting on the $400/barrel crude oil... laugh

So, far, he has not fixed anything, but he sure has broken a hell of a lot.

The military is one of the few things the constitution actually allows the government to do. Social security is not going to be shut down but I know you can’t tell that to people like bill. I’m sure there’s plenty of of waste and fraud there to weed out which will only make it stronger. I’ve never seen a government agency work well. It about time something is done to the wasteful and corrupt bloated corpse our government has become. There’s way too many people that live off the bloated corpse

I'm just glad I already have enough lead, copper, bismuth, ITX, powder, primers, wads and hulls to last me the rest of my life.

Collecting, shooting, and hunting with vintage guns has been a nice hobby.

The collecting part is done.

Great point, we need unproductive pork to make you feel good about yourself. So, we can only count on your gov agencies for easy things. Kicking and screaming, at least we're dragging your lazyarses to step it up a little. Common ground huh bill, the doE is shedding the dead weight that doesn't serve our future generations, remember back in the day when you were teaching, more than whining. Lol, trick question, you thought teaching 'em to whine was the path.

The prediction I missed was that the idiot that hangs around this village would blow up his rifle through complete ignorance.

It was entirely predictable.

Best,
Ted

But try to even them out and the whole country goes hysterical thanks to the Trump hatred.

I have zero Trump hatred. I have a big hatred with what happened to my money in the stock market the last 2 days and it appearing that I am not going to be able to buy a car I planned on buying this summer unless this crap gets sorted out. No one wins a trade war. Ronald Reagan got it right.

PS. I'm not saying there should not have been something done about the imbalance in trade, but the method chosen of not targeting the biggest offenders wasn't thought out. The blanket approach showed poor planning coupled with poor execution. That's a double thud. I just hope a recalculation is in order and in order soon, or else its gonna get really ugly. No one likes ugly.

It’s only a loss if you sell, right now. The markets take the stairs up, and the elevator down, and panic drives bad decisions more often than not. Analysts were warning of a correction back before Thanksgiving. I’d be willing to bet it takes about two weeks for most of this to be behind us.

Most of the tariffs are not exactly reciprocal, they are running at about 50% of what we are paying. There is a reason for that. There simply is no other US market for the world to go to. China, a manufacturing powerhouse, is painfully aware of the fact they literally can not feed themselves. The poorer countries are lined up TODAY to renegotiate their tariff structure with the US. See Vietnam for an example.

The people with real money are picking up some bargains. You telling me you’ve never seen a downturn before?

Best,
Ted

Sure, but I was much younger then and was willing to ride things out. I was in really good shape before this mess started. My mother who died a few years ago, got out of the market when her health started to go down hill. She saw the end coming and didn't want to take a chance on a crash because she knew she might not be able to have enough time to make it back. She was pretty smart. After she got out she never even looked at the market. No need to.

If I was in my 50's I wouldn't give a shit. Add 20 years to your 50's and you feel a good bit different. You have to also remember that over 60 percent of American's now are pretty much dependent on their 401K's because what they get from Social Security isn't near enough to live a good life once retired. Most of folks who have to draw from the 401K's to pay the bills every month aren't big fans of what is going on. Why would they be.

PS. Vietnam dialing in to say we will drop their barriers means almost nothing. They don't buy squat from us because they don't need what we sell for the most part. Its a poor country that has dirt cheap labor and as such has turned into a hub for making clothes and other things that won't ever be made here again because of that cheap labor. They pay their folks making that stuff about 300 bucks a month. That's never going to happen here, so why bring it back. Biggest thing Vietnam imports from the US is cotton, which is then used to make the clothes they export to the world. Like I said in the beginning, no one wins a trade war.

craigd, Since when is it whining to point out that the plane we're on is going down? Meanwhile you and ksauers1 order another Jim Beam and cheer the pilot. We're in a war against competence, led by people who don't know what it is or why it matters. Trump has told you for years that the United States is a shit-hole country, and you believe him while he sets out to make it so. Some patriotism.

Yea right tut. Worry about yourself ,right now, what about the future?

Trump has not said we are a shithole country but many of the countries where the illegals come from are. You mention competence, that's rich. The last 4 years we were ruled by more incompetence than we've ever seen . Couple that incompetence with the desire to turn our country into a shithole and bill ,you represent the complete delusion of the left.

Let's split the difference, yes you are a whiner, you have never had solutions. By making assumption, doesn't this read like a liar wrote it. Now, I'm not calling you a liar, that would be petty and in poor taste, but lying is all around us. Wouldn't you think lying is a problem, compared to the US of A that you grew up in? Sure, there have always been liars, but maybe they were the drinkers. Let's move on from this foolishness. Hypocrits, have you noticed how they also tend to be liars, oops, my bad. I like the gang bangers who've been working their way into Montana. Did I mention liars, and how I can't stand them, or was that hypocrits, just kidding, I look the other way, sometimes, and you?
