Well, sights added, but I'll never use them. I'm a scope guy.

We had a nice warm day today. It got up to 39 degrees - so I went to the range to test a couple loads with the 350 Rem Mag. I just might use this for Bear hunting this Fall.

Here are the 2 targets. I love my new Garmin chronograph.

That's a bummer - then its not made by Leonard Mews. Perhaps a custom by Bob Brownell. He copied much of Lenard's work, including Leonard's signature "diamond inlay" scalloped grip cap and his schnabel forend-tip.

A lot of makers of the period were also greatly influenced by the market. Look through some of the mid 50's Gun Digests. Weatherby totally reinvented the custom gun post WWII. My all time favorite maker was Dale Goens. Straight up perfection and simple and elegant designs to whatever level you wanted. This was in the mid sixties when I first became interested in his work. (The same time Winston Churchill was establishing himself and would cover an entire rifle with the best engraving I have ever seen for a few hundred dollars.) I was shocked when several years later I saw his 1950's work. It looked like Weatherby on LSD. Esthetics change with experience and market shifts.
