as in 28 ga 3" chamber, with 20 ga reverse cone, opening up to 16 ga bore...with 20 ga choke...
your pattern prediction, using fiocchi three inch factory loads?
keep it simple and keep it safe...

Predicting patterns without accurate dimensions is a fool's game. Predicting patterns without knowing the exact load is a fool's game. Patterns cannot be predicted, period. Every gun, and every load, is its own commander.
Things really slow for ya', huh Ed?

Sounds like Ed wants to shoot patterns with the more than elusive 28 gauge 3" shells. So Fiocchi makes those? I personally think that the pattern would conform with the degree of 20 gauge choke. Of course, the result would depend on how gradual the reduction of bore diameter to choke and where that reduction was in the bore.

stanlito, he say, it is foolish to try to sail to india. we know the earth is flat and when you go to far west, you will fall off the edge...

now eightboro...
you got hit...
figure when I sail west, beyond the curve...
and even when my mast and flag are no longer visible...
and if I keep going west, I will eventually run into India...
so, my new hull design is unlike any other...
it starts narrow at the stern...
then expands to fat for most of its length...
and then back to narrow at the bow, but less narrow than at the stern... so, you are suggesting that the length of the taper from fat to less narrow will affect performance?
keep it simple and keep it safe...

28 ga is .55
16 ga is .67
20 ga is .62

some numbers to consider... So, you want a magnum 28, that'll probably be barrels slapped on a 20. Maybe, ask the fellows if you should get gaugemate inserts and try 'em out for yersef. Put a pattern board behind your bird feeder?
