What an interesting Westley Richards Made in Concession to a Gunmaker in Kiel. Stunning engraving, very high quality. Although the motives are strange for an obvious bird gun. Roedeer, Cranes and badger? Weird. I am a bit stunned how much Holts is lowballing this shotgun. Between 800-1200 ? Should be way more in my eyes.

Looks like „Raschsche Karreegravierung” or Rascher Square Adornment w/ a Dot in the centre that can be confirmed by Ford.

A patent use of the Westley Richards droplock and very nice engraving and gold line. It is certainly under represented. I would like to own it.

The Brits don't seem to value Continental guns too much. The estimate doesn't surprise me.
The world cries out for such: he is needed & needed badly- the man who can carry a message to Garcia

Yeah, a Merkel variant would be 10(ten) times that in the US of A.

The Brits aren’t valuing most guns very highly these days.
Just me, but, it has the hat trick of Germanic features that I won’t buy. Horn trigger guard, cheekpiece, heavy handed, game scene engraving. Not my cup of tea.
Best,
Ted

Serbus,
Raimey rse Oddly enough, no wine, tea, or, grape juice on hand here. However, I can assure you that dried out old horn trigger guards do shatter when it is below zero, in these parts. The other stuff I just don’t like. Neither do the Brits, apparently. You should feel free to hunt with whatever you desire. That is what “just me” implies. Best, Ted
