Hi, I watched for several days after posting my question, and as in the past got a couple responses, but nothing I didn't already know. I was hoping someone had a gun like mine. No such luck.
Anyway while looking tonight I saw that you had posted about Ernst and his gun, so I just read your note with interest.
Years ago, when I called the German collectors association I spoke to a very nice older fellow who verified my gun through pictures I sent him, and at the time he said I was probably a lone wolf. Seems like he's right.
My purpose in finding out the history of my guns is that the back story can be as interesting as the gun itself. To date all I really know is that the Schlegelmilch family made guns of their own under several family names and were partners with Theime on a grander scale. I guess that will have to do.
