Before the election, lots of things were being threatened and the prices for them were clearly depressed. With the election now safely past, we're resuming more-normal pricing once again. I'm seeing that in guns, old cars, and even vintage fishing tackle.
As far as EPA and lead...most don't have a clue as to how lucky we really are now. I was in several technical staff meetings in the summer of 2023 where "lead" was being discussed (in almost hushed terms) and the goal was clearly to expand the then current regulations to before unheard-of limits (the real goal was never clearly stated but...it was pretty obvious to me). The only thing stopping the Biden-EPA folks was how that might be perceived by the general public (& to come up with the "science" to explain it) and how that would affect ongoing industry (and the economy) and even then, how it would affect even previous environmental clean-ups around the country. The better (i.e., less-woke) technical staff was pointing out all of the problems that would create for any State and Federal regulators trying to enforce them. Clearly, the Biden-EPA folks were waiting for the pending election cycle to end before openly discussing these "new" environmental laws. If Kamala Harris had won, there is no doubt in my mind that these incredibly onerous regulations would have been promulgated.
IMHO...we came really close to losing many of our rights and freedoms. Too damn-close to even imagine. Chills me to even think about it now.
