Please keep in mind that many local libraries accept book donations. After the books appear at a book sale for a week the unpurchased volumes are sold for pulp. That is a terrible fate for a commodity that we were taught was almost sacred. Please let me know where you gave your classic sports car books, AGS. I will try to rescue them. Bibliophiles are ethically obliged to place their collections with fellow connoisseurs. Do not assume that public libraries are run by book lovers... and dog catchers are animal lovers.

I didn't do this without knowing their intentions. A good friend is an assistant librarian there and I discussed their needs. That is the reason the I donated the car books there. I live in an area with a lot of old money families with a lot of expensive hobbies. He wanted the auto books to fill a need. I have seen them on the shelves and they are popular I am told. Our main library is in a congested area downtown and they have built several reasonably large satellite sites over the last few years and using donations to fill a lot of the new space.
