In the niche within the niche of SxS’s that I watch (16b Ithacas) it seems I’m seeing a gradual turn upward. In ‘23 I purchased the following gun which I previously mentioned here so will quote.
“Last year I purchased a gun that I had long looked for and I was the only bidder. It was an all original in fantastic condition and I bought it for the opening bid that was about 40-50% below what would have been its value just a couple of years before.“
Earlier this month I watched a field grade 16b NID. It was in used but good shape. It attracted 8 bidders and sold for about 18-20% below what it likely would have brought a few years ago.
That said, I still see plenty of Ithaca SxS’s out there with starting bids well above their current market value. They draw no interest.
