For what it is worth, the Uggy is a non ejector gun, and, I presume, the only reason for the third fastener is the 3” proof. But, I’ll listen to any ideas anybody else might have. The gun is well short of 6 1/2 lbs, and the damn thing will rattle your teeth with 1 1/8 ounce loads. If anyone ever shot a 3” round out of it, I’d wager they didn’t do it twice.

I shoot some skeet with it, using 1 ounce 12 gauge loads. The chokes have been let out, and if I had to shoot steel I’d shoot it out of this one.

I keep it around as a travel gun, I have a little kit with spare strikers and the tool to remove the discs, but, since I have them, I’ll never need them. Sorta like the skunk kit for the dog. If you asked the typical guy in the US, who might buy a new double gun, circa 1972, what a hidden third fastener was, I bet 99 times out of 100 you’d get a blank stare.
