Not in this case. The 11% CA excise tax is purely to punish hunters and shooters, and is supposed to go toward offsetting the effects of "gun violence," which has absolutely nothing to do with us. The fed excise taxes are already buried in the price of the ammo, so we get to pay outrageous sales and state excise taxes calculated on top of the fed excise taxes. In my town, the current sales tax rate is 10.5%, so with the new excise tax it's 21.5% on the purchase price of the ammo. I have not purchased any ammo in CA since this went into effect, and I plan to never buy ammo in CA. They want my money? Screw the bastards. I'll take my business out of state.
