This guy has been advertising this one for most of a decade:

https://www.gunsinternational.com/g...-bss-sidexside-12ga.cfm?gun_id=100811608

So, less than what he is asking, I guess. The other version, sans the ducks and pheasants, but, in 12 gauge with 26” tubes, seems to float around $4K, depending on how motivated the seller is.

The 28” 20 gauges are off the charts.

Best,
Ted

Per usual, you are confused, ed. The BSS boxlock guns are fairly heavy, and clunky. This discussion is not about those guns. It is about the BSS sidelock. Which, is a totally different animal. I owned a 26” barrel 12 that weighed less than a Richland 3” 20 gauge, a little less than 6 1/2lbs.

Here is a picture of the actual subject, ed, that will hopefully help to relieve your confusion.

Your confusion persists, ed. There are none for sale at that price, and, they have not sold for $3K, for about a decade.

They are very decent shooters.

There was an article in the DGJ years ago about a gentleman gunsmith who took one apart and was amazed on the workings. He made the statement that these guns were made as well or better that an H&H which he stated would probably make people mad.

A gentleman that I knew (RIP) bought all the different models in 12 and 20 gauge. Some were quite rare and memory fails me but I think it was the engraving on the 20 gauge that no one at the time said existed. He also had them made to his specifications and had stocks made for his young to be inheritor (never married) for when the guns were turned over to him. At the time I think they went for $1500.
