I don't know how to start a "Go Fund Me" fund, but isn't it better to unify our support and show up in this fashion than ask members to send money in for this 3rd index? To me, this Go Fund Me sends a totally different message to the Cote's, than additional orders. In the long run, they get a kind message and the money too.

Sorry, I don't agree. Dan stated that the shortage of orders for Volume 3 is the cause of his situation with the book. Potential customers seem to be waiting for the book to come up on ebay as a publisher's overstock for $39.95. Order and pay for the book.

I'm so sorry to hear about my namesake Daniel's health problems and the loss of his son. My condolences.

Much encouragement and strength to him and Joanna.

I was looking at some guns on Guns International and ran across some listings from Daniel Cote. At the bottom of the listings was the following note:

A MESSAGE TO ALL WHO HAVE ORDERED THE "INDEX & READER VOLUME 3":
The Double Gun Journal Index & Reader Volume 3 (456 page hardcover) will be published and shipped by the end of March 2025.
The pre-publication rate of $135 Ppd. to U.S.A. will remain in effect until March 15, 2025. If you haven't ordered yours, please call us.
Thank you for all your patience,
Daniel Philip Côté

He would have been better served to print Volume 3 in China. That is if the problem is with the printer. You know those wild and crazy Canucks. I wonder if I still have time to write my chapter?

I likewise ordered Volume 3. Have the whole set up and until 2020. Had health issues myself and can totally relate.

For me to develop a “burr under my saddle” I generally require evidence of bad faith. And that I have not seen from the Cotes.

That publication was clearly a labour of love for 30 plus years and it provided me with a vintage double education I just don’t know how I would have received otherwise. I am, I think like many others here, in the Cote’s debt. That they have fallen on hard financial times at the same time suffered personal setbacks of the most tragic kind, is frankly heartbreaking. That publication did so much for us.

I don’t think it’s an either / or. At least it shouldn’t be. Collections should be completed if short some issues they have. Slip covers should be purchased from their inventory. The Index and Reader should be ordered. And if a Go Fund Me is set up, a contribution should be made. It’s the least we can do.

Running any business is difficult. I can only imagine that trying to run a print media business as the internet took over was next to impossible. I wish the Cote’s well as they try to move forward.

The world cries out for such: he is needed & needed badly- the man who can carry a message to Garcia
