I have a George Gibbs 16 gauge pinfire with Joseph Brazier locks and receiver. When i bought was told in the white. After awhile pulled out to get this nice little shot gun with nice 29 3/4 barrels pulled apart to get the shotgun casehardened when i realized it is not in the white but plated!
Any information Welcome!!

appears that brazier was also the actioner....i have seen references to his having done so.

this is the first time i have seen his name inside the lock plate - without the address "ashes" included.

would seem to me that a plated gun would be pretty unusual.

I could not believe it when I looked at it. and not only on the outside when you rotate the locks the inner workings reflect the light like a mirror and like on the receiver tang you can see a line between the steel base and plating. Did not expect this!!

I seem to remember that the locks with the ashes markings were Brazier's higher grade locks.

According to the Internet Gun Company report, there were many Braziers, even maybe with some with the same name and time period. Who knows ? The Ashes Brazier might not relate to this gun. Lots of fun mysteries.

Seems one of the Joseph Brazier made the action and the locks. Anybody know if George Gibbs would have made the shotgun or just put his name on it? looks like a Tr on barrels.

I have a Boss & Co. 12 gauge hammergun with Brazier ashes name on the inside of the locks and on the action flats. Gun has no serial number but it is definitely A Boss. May have been a prototype action sent to Boss saying, "look what we can do!"
