Were Fox Kautsky triggers (single) non selective or selective?

The Fox-Kautzky trigger was selective. Insert added to some 1914 A.H. Fox Gun Co. catalogs --

From mid-1932 through 1934, Savage offered a non-selective trigger on their A.H. Fox guns, I suspect the same trigger they introduced on their J. Stevens Arms Co. doubles in June 1932.

The house Fox trigger is a Kautsky.

Guys arguing over which design of single trigger is better, always gives me a couple good yucks.

yYeah Ted! I have had trouble with single triggers and don't really want any. There was an advertised Fox A grade 20 with a single trigger that was well underpriced. So I was interested. (I've owned a dozen Foxes...) Somebody jumped on it. Saved me from any trouble!

Single triggers on SXS guns always struck me as the answer to a question nobody asked.

If I needed a single trigger, I suppose I’d go with a repeater.

Best,

Ted

i have always favored guns that had a single trigger....with another single trigger right behind it...

On the other hand, I’d love to a a single non selective trigger in the rear position on my Super Fox. The barrels are choked the same anyway and it would leave room for a gloved trigger finger.

I can take single triggers or leave them, leave them particularly if prone to doubling or other issues. I was raised on double triggers, then went to a single trigger as a youngun'. I can swap back and forth with one or the other at will without ever a thought about having to remember what to do. It just happens, correctly.

Gr8day, my Super Fox has double triggers, but I'll bet you'd shooting like my LC Smith 32" barreled 16 ga. It has a HOT in the rear position. Though it has always worked perfectly I'll admit that the rear position of it feels a little "weird" to me at first. I can't comfortably pull it with the first pad of my trigger finger and have to put more of my finger through the guard, contacting the trigger face with the second pad of my trigger finger. That's strange, because it has a very long LOP and you would think that would help position my hand farther back, but it doesn't. Regardless, I shoot it well.

The 16 ga. . . . .

And the pre-'13 three inch chambered 32" LC Smith 3E 12 ga., which has its HOT just about exactly in the same position . . . .

Thanks Stan. It's really a passing fancy. While Dan May was fixing a doubling issue with my SF, I asked him about the cost to install a single trigger. It was fairly expensive (around 2K) and not worth it just for the sake of trying it out. Plus I'd be messing with an all original gun, so double-triggered it will remain.
