Prosperity creates a strange, self-destructive corrupting effect on people. If you live in a prosperous country, you learn self-loathing. Intellectualism, unmoors itself from reality and becomes stupidity. Progressivism may be the worst ism. It ignores the reality that almost everything can only progress to a certain point, after that you're regressing. Whatever else anyone wants to say about Trump, I think he understands that.
