Castreau hasn't actually resigned. Just engaged in a little sleight of hand to buy time and try to salvage power for his party. Lawsuits about his actions have been filed and while his expulsion from power is inevitable, the idiosyncrasies of our system means the next leader of the Liberal Party will automatically become PM. The question then becomes how fast do they get forced into an election. That's the thing they are trying desperately to avoid. An election. And it's always the Right that gets accused of being bad for democracy.
