A friend once had a mini-cam, large professional high end video camera worth about $14k stolen from his house. He reported it and then kept his eye on the local Recycler, a classified paper. Within a few weeks he spotted it advertised. He called the investigating officer (likely not working on finding the camera) and told him the story. The officer blew him off saying that there are many cameras for sale. Bullshnot! It was the only one anywhere near that value in that or any other paper in the area. Anyway, he sent another friend to look it over get the s/n and "make an offer". The jest of the story is; post the gun description and s/n everywhere you can, ranges, bbs's, etc, along with some good pics, if you have them. It may garner a lead, but you'll have to be the "investigator".
