Cold WX up north is pushing birds into some of our usual habitat. It's been scratch and claw for a few birds until the last week. Today I went to a spot in the lowcountry that I found last spring during gobbler season. Hunt was over too quickly. The dog with the "what did I do?" look is the young French Brittany, Snap. She's named after Floyd's late great Brittany Snap. Snap will be 2 late spring and is coming along just fine. Willa (11.5) is her cell mate and Abby (14) is outside the jail looking things over. Well done, my friend. Glad things took a turn for the better. Maybe it will last awhile.
May God bless America and those who defend her.

Thanks also to the lady with the Black Labrador (hidden in the reeds) who so efficiently picked up our bag.

Great boxlock. Love the engraving work on the detonation.

Tudor Roses for the original owner, Tudor Crawshay. ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/BGKOskP.jpg) The gun was a special order in 1894, and this is a copy of the entry in the Order book but sadly it says nothing about the engraving and the identity of the engraver remains a mystery.

Are the overhanging intercepting sears in place, or, removed? Love the church windows and all the documentation.
Very classy gun, nice to see it being hunted.

Had a successful woodie hunt this morning, all by myself. Trusty old 30" BSS, .018" choke in each barrel, BOSS #5 Cu plated bismuth. Not as nice an old double as yours, Parabola, but deadly effective on woodies and clays. ![[Linked Image from jpgbox.com]](https://www.jpgbox.com/jpg/74177_1024x768.jpg)

No ducks left in this part of the world, Stan. About -10 right now, wind chill is close to -30. The high temp tomorrow is going to be about -5, and the wind will still be 5-10 out of the northwest, with gusts to 20.
Baby, it’s cold outside.
Good to see you are still hitting the slew.

Ted,
I don’t know if the overhanging intercepting sears are still present.
I will take the stock off and have a look,

Best, Ted Not to rub it in, or anything, but the low yesterday morning when I was shooting those woodies was 42 degrees (+42, that is) and drizzling rain. I was pass shooting them as they flew up a creek to get to their "day place", and easily a hundred came over me.There's no way to pick out drakes before shooting in low light like that. The only thing I can do is look for the biggest woodie in the drove. Often that is a drake. I was lucky yesterday in that I picked right three times.
May God bless America and those who defend her.
