Took my 'new' 1896 Clabrough 10 bore Duck and Quail Gun out this morning for the first time. 32" barrels, full and full, cocking indicators, three-way safety. I like it! ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/yveVBXh.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/4QoFvMj.jpg)

Hey all, Happy New Year to one and all! Went out for a couple hours today, bit cool, but not much wind. Did see more than the last couple times out, but still wild. Was able to get a couple. Did shoot a limit, but lost one over the cattails Addie did her best but no cigar. Addie did really well, very happy with her. This weekend is the end of our season, hope to get out again Stay well my friends Greg ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/h46YX1Q8/20250101-134814.jpg)

![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/v82DkQVG/IMG-4630.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/QxBVrRQ1/IMG-4632.jpg) best day in years in my area. Grouse numbers way down. Mollie flushed first grouse, one shot and she brought back to hand. same cover and she flushed a woodcock 5 minutes later. one shot and brought to hand. moved down edge of a field that had about 205 yds of poplar and scrub. she worked that and we went about 50 yds and up went the second grouse. one shot and brought to hand. I then told her better not flush anymore, I dont want to mess up my 100% shooting. wont make that again for a while. She is 9 1/2. what a dog.

Hey all, well today was the last day of our bird season here in North Dakota. It was pretty much the same as last year. A good one. Made some good shots and missed some easy ones Could not complain about the weather. Temps were a bit wild, warm, then cold, then warm again. Just a roller coaster. So far we have very little snow. Guess we'll see what the next couple months hold. Fingers crossed for a mild winter and good nesting and brooding for next year! The good thing is no injuries for both man and dog, no break downs and no issues. Addie my GSP did a wonderful job this year. Very Very happy with her. I had a great time with my son's and my daughter....Best hunting partners I ever had. Just want to thank the good Lord and St Hubert for a safe and successful season. As far as today's hunt, saw quite a few, but the roosters were crazy wild! Addie was able to pin a couple down. I got one and blew the other shot, oh well, God's will. Here's my last bird of the year and Addie Stay well my friends Greg ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/TPZ494gs/20250105-165401.jpg)
