Stan, You're going to love them! I inherited a pair from my hunting partner after his passing, it makes me feel that he's in our coverts with me. Karl

I know nothing about them, but I thought it was kind of cool. Lump of coal in the stocking: Hit a deer... ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/kBrLl2f.jpeg)

Stan, By coincidence we were the same size, 46 Euro/12 U.S. The Chasseur are form fitting and feel great. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. I find that thin wool socks work the best. Karl

May God bless America and those who defend her.

Gift certificate for a pair of LeChameau Chasseur boots from Orvis. Always wanted some. Stan, you'll love those boots. Be careful noting calf size when you order, they come in different sizes. I've had mine for near 30 years. JR
Be strong, be of good courage. God bless America, long live the Republic.

![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/iIAlEU2.png) Not yet collected them from Bedford (they won’t ship ammunition) but treated myself to the first factory.33 Winchester ammunition I have seen on offer since I bought the 1886 rifle as an unsold lot at Holts in 2011. Been feeding it since then with re-formed .45-70 brass. Having bought the rifle I discovered that Hornady had discontinued the 200 grain flat points, and when I met Steve Hornady at the Game Fair a year or so later he regretted that there were no plans to bring it back. A friend was going to Australia and I asked him to try to find a box of Woodleigh bullets. He couldn’t but did find and brought back a box of the discontinued Hornady. Mostly I feed it cast flat nose, which group well and equal factory velocities.

You have quite a rifle in that 1886, Parabola. I envy you. I never fully appreciated them until reading a book loaned me by a close friend recently. If you don't have it, or access to it, you are missing an absolute wealth of information on the lever Winchester rifles and all the chamberings; including test data, loading data, and lots of stories of it's use here in the States by the author and others. This is the book I speak of . . . . The Winchester Lever Legacy by Clyde Williamson. He fired some 750,000 rounds over the years he was testing and collecting data for this book. At 664 pages it is a massive tome. https://www.amazon.com/Winchester-lever-legacy-Clyde-Williamson/dp/0962026719
