A bit more info on the Prince's trip to India in 1875: http://www.hunting-heritage.com/blo...manufacturer-to-hrh-the-prince-of-wales/

I need to read up more on the original owner of another double of mine, an Army Navy CSL 500BPE made by Webley & Scott in 1889 (forgive me if this was just Webley or just Scott at the time...their chronology is a bit confusing to me). Anyway, that screw grip actioned double rifle was purchased by Col. Malleson in 1889 from Army & Navy. But in 1875, he was in the service of Maharaja of Mysore. I'm curious if the princes tour took him there.

FWIW, Malleson wrote a number of books on India and the mutinies. The University of Glasgow was kind enough to say who bought the gun, and I haven't been able to find more than just this one Col. Malleson in the British Army and EIC rolls. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Bruce_Malleson

That rifle has only been with me a month or so, and needs its own thread, and a trip to the range. It's similar to the ones shared by canvasback and CaptCurl in this thread: https://www.doublegunshop.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=269467&page=1
