Forgive me for my old age CRS…
I asked this question before….
I want to restock a 3E single trigger 30” 16 ga. A pretty rare gun. I bought it with a beautiful stock made by someone who had no idea of grain pattens. I shot it a moderate amount and it cracked in the wrist . I put 5 pins in it and have been shooting it, but am afraid it should be restocked. It is my favorite pheasant gun.
I got a quote from Fajen for over $6k with my wood. Obviously that is too much. I asked for suggestions.
Names were suggested, but I miss-placed them.
Please give me some suggestions

Jerry Steve Bertram (aka SKB) restocked my Greener perfectly. He would be my first choice.

Jerry Andrews in WVA. He has restocked something like 300 or so. Post over on the LC Collectors Website. His address and phone are posted over there. Walter Koluch up in McMinnville OR has also stocked LCs, all by hand. He worked on a 16 FW for me way back when in NY (70s). Good luck.

Jerry Give Larry Schuknecht a call. You want a stockmaker that is intimately familiar with the single trigger and intricacies of stocking an Elsie equipped with one. They are kind of a P.I.T.A. Larry would be a great guy for the job. (716) 741-3739

JR An LC Smith stock that has 5 pins through the wrist is very likely on borrowed time. If you are always distracted by the notion of perhaps having a two piece gun (again, it would seem, from the OPs commentary) as you are pulling up on a fleeing pheasant, it will effect your shooting. It isn’t the original stock, collectibility likely isn’t a concern. Fix it, or get rid of it. Best, Ted

I have sent guns to Jerry, he does do stocks anymore (at least a couple of years ago he said that to me. He is a great guy though and now that we have lost Buck Hamlin, he is a great go to guy for LC Smiths

It is on borrowed time and now their is something for a duplicator to start with, if it falls apart it will be harder
