I am definitely a watch guy - I wear one every day and rarely leave the house without one. I use it at work to take heart and respiratory rates and glance at it throughout the day to keep track of time. After trying different kinds of watches I find myself wearing one of two watches, both solar powered quarts watches with the case and bracelet made out of titanium. I have a blue Citizen Chronomaster which is one of the most accurate self contained watches in the world and mine is accurate to within 2 seconds per year. I love the fact that I own such an accurate, and beautiful, watch. My other daily watch is a black Citizen dive watch. Its not quite as accurate (8 seconds per month), but has a different look than my Chronomaster. I find glancing at my watch easier than digging out my iPhone when there isn't a digital clock on a screen near me. So,for me they are a time piece, jewelry and a nod to the past. If you like time pieces and history I recommend Dava Sobel's excellent book "Longitude" which is about the history of building the first accurate marine chronometer that revolutionized navigating at sea. Wearing a nice analog watch while shooting a double gun seems like a natural pairing to me. If you dabble in 1911 pistols those guys are really into watches, mainly mechanical watches, which are fascinating little machines you can carry around with you!

I guess I'm just too "practical minded" to understand wearing a watch while carrying a cell phone. That's okay, though. My wife doesn't understand me either (after 53 yrs.). She wears an Apple wrist watch, has a cell phone, while she listens to podcasts on an iPad through her earbuds, during working around the house with four clocks scattered about in various rooms.

confused I give up.

May God bless America and those who defend her.

I like to wear a watch. I do not wear one around the house. When I was in my 20s I went through the rolex phase. My two buddies and myself bought them. Sturdy watches. All there could keep time worth a shit. Took it to the rolex dealer here in Houston, said fixed. Still did not keep time worth a shit. Sent back to rolex, said adjusted not any better. We all sold ours. Now, have several Movados. Been very pleased with the Movados.
