No doubt Ted, they are warm, but I admit to laughing when I opened the picture.

I'm no help with deep cold hats, they tend to get set down and lost. Decent beanie style hats work for me, in conjunction with the hood of my jacket, often a double hood with wool under the main jacket. It just works better that way for me, to keep wind out. Same with a decent silk material scarf, seals off the breeze around the neck, and you can snuggle down into it. It ain't easy sitting still and quiet, when the temp is well south of zero.
